Missouri Tigers get big Week One Victory

The 25th-ranked Missouri Tigers got a huge victory on Thursday Night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff to open up the season.

Ole Miss transfer QB Austin Simmons had a stellar opening night for his first game as a Tiger, throwing for 252 Yards and 4 Passing Touchdowns. He was removed from the game before halftime to rest before a big game next week against a rival school, the Kansas Jayhawks. Missouri took a 4-0 lead in the opening Quarter after two passing touchdowns from Simmons. The Tigers then scored 26 in the second Quarter, with 2 more touchdowns through the air and a rushing touchdown from Jamal Roberts. The Tigers also added a safety and a Field Goal in that Quarter. The Tigers rested starters in the second half, but they still scored two more touchdowns, all on the ground, one from Matt Zollers and one from Preston Hatfield. Pine Bluff did score twice in the second half, with a 27-yard run from Za’Marion Webber and a 16-yard touchdown reception by David Brewer IV. The Tigers move to 1-0 on the season, while Pine Bluff hits an even .500 at 1-1. Missouri will play the Kansas Jayhawks next Friday Night at 7 p.m, on Fox.
