Week 2 High School Football Recap

With Week 2 of the High School Football season coming to a close, here is a recap of all the games in our broadcast area.

Kody Tipton collects his first win as head coach of the Fredericktown Blackcats as they defeat Herculaneum 30-7. Both teams are at .500 with a 1-1 record.

Potosi dominated Charleston in a 60-28 victory. The Trojan defense was in perfect shape as they collected 3 interceptions in the first quarter, which helped them to a 40-7 lead at half. Potosi didn't let up and ended up with a huge Week 2 win, raising hopes of all Trojan fans.

The Central Rebels got a 27-7 victory over the Jefferson Blue Jays. The Rebels got into the win column for the first time this season, with the offense looking much improved over that disappointing Week 1 loss.

One of the state's best teams, the Valle Catholic Warriors, got another huge victory against the Rockwood Summit Falcons, 42-7. Valle's two QBs proved to be a threat, as Sam Kuehn and Andrew Schilly combined for 5 passing Touchdowns.

St. Genevieve could not keep up the momentum from a huge Week 1 win, falling to St. Vincent 34-0. The Dragons struggled offensively, getting shut out, while St. Vincent pulled off the huge upset win.

North County suffers a second straight loss to open the season, this time against Southun Boone, losing 41-13. The Raiders were without QB Brady McClure, who is eyeing a return for this week's game against DeSoto.

Farmington continues to show out, as they shut out Sullivan 55-0 in the Knight home opener. The Farmington Defense has only allowed 3 points in the first two weeks of the season, as they have looked dominant early on.
